Tamron 300mm f2.8 lens - Nikon mount - near perfect in AEROGLEN, Queensland for sale
Classic non-digital 300mm lens. In its time a top of the range 'must have' photojournalists accessory selling for several thousand dollars. I'm only selling it because I tend to use my Nikon 300mm f4 instead - mainly due to the weight - this is a heavy lens due to the huge front element required to get to f2.8. One slight (very fine, just through the coating) approx 20mm hairline scratch in the coating about 1cm from the outside edge so not even within the frame of the camera sensor / film. No fungus, no visible dust, clean and smooth aperture. Comes with original lens hood, soft case, hand-shooting screw-in handle (mounts to the tripod mount), L47c original 43mm insert filter and lined 'leather' lens cap with embossed Tamron logo. Unusual to find one of these with all the original accessories. It's not designed for digital so some correction is required for chromatic aberration in lightroom / aperture / photoshop / what have you when it's wide open. Also, the autofocus is camera driven and comparatively slow. However, you are probably looking to be able to shoot in lower light levels rather than fixated on the AF speed or absolute lens sharpness in which case this is an excellent lens for the price. It's considerably cheaper than the current $6000 Nikon version or the $4000 you'd expect to pay for the older version or a Sigma. Pick up a bargain!
